Tour Description

Join this 7-day winter vacation package to visit the best spots in Iceland. This package will take you to explore Iceland’s famous Golden Circle, beautiful South Coast, and richly diverse Snæfellsnes peninsula with a few hidden gems along the way. This tour package is perfect for those who want a stress-free week exploring the very best of Iceland’s natural beauty.

You will visit all three national parks in Iceland, filled with natural wonders: Þingvellir National Park on the Golden Circle, Snæfellsjökull National Park in the West, and Vatnajökull National Park in South Iceland.

Your first tour will take you to the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Here you will explore a rugged and diverse terrain of mountains, glaciers, and lava fields. You’ll get to stop off in the picturesque coastal locations of Hellnar and Arnarstapi, as well as spotting a seal colony at the Ytri-Tunga beach. Alongside this, you’ll also get to visit the famous arrowhead mountain (Kirkjufell mountain) from the hit HBO show, Game of Thrones.

Next, you’ll explore the wondrous Golden Circle. Here you’ll witness a towering spouting Geyser, Iceland’s most famous waterfall Gullfoss and the beautiful scenic location of Þingvellir National Park.

Finally, you’ll get to journey through the vibrant terrains of Iceland’s magical South Coast. You’ll venture past powerful waterfalls, quaint towns, the famous Reynisfjara black sand beach, and end up at Iceland’s crown jewel, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.

But this is no mere sightseeing trip. You’ll be out adventuring with plenty of outdoor activities, including ice caving, where you will see a thousand shades of crystal blue. The ice caves are specially chosen each year for their beauty and safety so that you can enjoy the scenery and capture the moment in the most beautiful photographs possible.

Find full details of your daily activities below, and don’t forget to pack your warm layers. You’ll especially need these as you look to spot the world’s most spectacular light show in the evenings, the Northern Lights.

You can add a little extra fun to your tour of the Golden Circle by booking an additional horse riding tour around the geothermal landscape, dive between two continental plates on a snorkeling tour in Silfra fissure or take the wheel of a snowmobile and speed across a glacier

All your accommodation is included in this package. But you also have the option to spend many nights hunting the Northern Lights at various stunning locations.

Join this trip to experience the magic of Iceland in winter! Check availability by choosing a date and book your Iceland adventure today.

Good to know

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and therefore cannot be guaranteed, but this itinerary is designed to maximize your chances to see them if the weather allows. Please be aware that your itinerary may have to be rearranged to better fit your arrival date and time.
Some optional activities might need a valid driver's license, or you might need to send additional information to your travel planner. Please note that you need to know how to swim and present medical documents should you choose to go snorkeling or diving.

It can happen, in the case of extreme weather, that an activity is canceled. If your chosen activity is canceled, we will assist you with rearranging or booking other activities when possible, and any potential price difference will be refunded to you.

Note that Icelandic roads and pavements can be slippery in the wintertime. We recommend you bring shoes with slip-resistant soles or ice-grip shoe covers. The covers can be purchased in most supermarkets and gas stations around the country.

What should I wear for glacier tours?

Weather in Iceland is very unpredictable. For tours during winter: warm clothing as first layer, waterproof outdoor jacket and pants, hiking boots with high ankle protection, a hat and gloves are ideal. For tours during summer, bringing a light rain jacket and pants is in most cases enough protection. Icelanders often say, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes”. Jeans are not recommended for outdoor trips as they become very heavy and cold when they get wet.
